Troegs Joyous
Out of all my Troegs beerscapes, this build, the process itself gave me the most joy. It’s by pure coincidence that the name of this beer is Joyous. The reason why this build brought me the most joy is because it’s inspiration is derived from a special place in my nerdy heart. The video game series Bioshock spans to timelines, one, a 1940s city built under the sea by a Howard Hughs-type character with Orwellian tendencies and another city built in the sky, full with religious zealots and a parallel city leader named “The Prophet”. Within these world is a more refined steampunk design aesthetic and that is where I found a plethora of airship designs. One design that reached out to me was a grouping of balloons, held together by fishing nets.
After buying a hot glue gun, miniature baskets, butchers twine and netting, the Joyous Airship came together. All that was left was adding in the train figurines that my buddy Francesco Gambino painted for me. I ended up photographing this in a blue background, brought it into after effects and animated the airship rising through the clouds
