You don’t need to qualify as a basic b**ch for this recipe. This pumpkin French toast will make you see your creator after you take a bite. There’s nothing more comforting than to bite into a warm, maple syrup drenched piece of French toast on a rainy Sunday morning which is exactly what I did.
I knew this dish was on the sweeter side and maple usually pairs wonderfully with Stouts, so I picked up a Troegs stout and hit the races.

Royal Icing
Equipment:
Large Cast Iron
Spatula
Steps:
In batches, add butter (I used about 1/4 stick) and toast on a medium hot cast iron pan.
Flip every minute, achieving that golden brown look. Extra browning is okay just don’t burn it.
Optional: Set aside on baking sheet and top with maple sugar, butter and syrup.
